Additional Services: Immigration Evaluations, Interventions, and Education

Psychological Evaluations for Immigration, CPS, Divorce, and Personal Injury

Criddle Counseling Services offers psychological evaluations and assessments for immigration petitions, asylum, and waivers for extreme hardship, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and U-Visas. In addition, services are also available for Texas Child Protective Services, divorce, and personal injury cases. Sessions usually take 2 – 3 hours, with additional sessions, included in the rate, if necessary. Reports are provided directly to the client and/or released to your attorney or legal representative within 7-15 business days. Emergency evaluations and reports are available within 48 hours for an additional rate.

Services are typically available in Houston and East Harris County. However, evaluation appointments are also available in various cities throughout Texas. We also offer internet evaluations and sessions that are HIPPA compliant.

Weekdays, evening, and Saturday appointments are available. In unique and urgent circumstances, Sunday appointments may be available. Services are provided in Spanish and in English.

While children and adolescents are welcomed, it is best if children are not present for the session unless being evaluated. Information shared in the evaluations and sessions may be sensitive or traumatic and could be inappropriate for children to hear. Please make arrangements for childcare prior to the session. Children will not be allowed to be unattended at the office.

Crisis Intervention

I am available to assist with crisis interventions and provide after hour crisis care services in collaboration with local crisis teams and treatment facilities when necessary. Clients are informed during their initial session regarding the process for contacting me during a crisis. New clients can contact me through phone or email. I typically will answer a crisis within 30 minutes. Non-crisis calls are returned with 24 – 48 hours. Interventions are available upon collaboration with family support members, clinician, and local treatment and emergency facilities. Safety for all is priority in determining intervention.

Types of Intervention

Mental Health Crisis / Psychotic episode: Onsite evaluation and crisis intervention with local mental health hospitals and crisis teams if deemed necessary

Substance abuse intervention: Onsite emergency intervention and facility referral/hospitalization if deemed immediately necessary or family/friend collaborated intervention with treatment referrals and recommendations

Grief/Loss: Onsite therapeutic support for sudden loss or grief for individuals, couples, families, or communities. Collaboration with other emergency teams, counselors, or community organizations.

Hospice: Onsite or facility based therapeutic support for client and family in hospice.

Domestic Violence Intervention and Treatment: de-escalation, seeking safety, emergency shelter referrals, court ordered treatment, preventative workshops

Hoarding Intervention and clearing: an intensive therapeutic process requiring family collaboration and therapy and evaluated case-by-case for treatment appropriateness and/or necessary referrals for psychiatric care.

Workshops & Psychoeducational Presentations

Staff development is an important part of working with special populations. It allows for improved client services, supports mission statements and objectives, and improves staff understanding and well-being. In addition to professional development, communities may benefit by providing informational sessions to parents, students, and other special interests groups. I am available and prepared to provide psychoeducational presentations and workshops to school districts, government agencies, corporations, and substance abuse/mental health facilities, etc. Presentations and workshops are not limited to Texas and contracting is negotiable.
